Holidays everyday?

Laying here in bed restless (oh pregnant) has given me plenty of time to fumble through a lot of things.

Tonight I lay here texting a friend and explaining to her the situation I've been moved to. This led to me ponder things in my life.

Thankfulness, love, patriotism. We have three separate holidays that are responsible for these emotions, feelings, and displays in our lives.

Now for my main point. I am extremely thankful every day now. It's taken me quite some time to grow up enough to realize how lucky I am. Just the fact that my husband works from 6-4:30 every day and pays all of our bills while I'm at home makes me extremely thankful for him. He's the bread winner and he's happy to be doing it for us. I'm thankful for my family as well. Even though they are 16 hours away I talk with them every day. Phone company is better than no company in my book.

Love is celebrated one day a year. That day also happens to be my birthday so I do get left out a bit anyways. I've seen love grow stronger within just a few months and the loved expressed from my husband is to be marveled at. He's been able to put up with me even when I'm being Mr.Hyde. I love that man with my heart and I'm thrilled that he is so happy with where we've gotten in life.

Patriotism is something that I lacked a huge part of my life. Having pride in my country wasn't something I was fond of. All I could see was the many flaws that our government had and how much hurt that caused. Having a boyfriend in the military changed it all a bit. Finally realizing that families did without their loved ones for their country hit home. The seven months I was without Chance really hurt me and made me proud of what he did. I think that our military is unappreciated on many levels. I also still know that America has many many flaws, saying this I also know that every other country does too. No where is perfect and having pride in our country can only make it better. We may meddle in things a lot but we strive to make other places better and their government stronger.

My goal for this year (late I know), is to be thankful, loving, and patriotic every day. It'll give every day a greater purpose and the ones around me a better attitude.
