Obsessed with fall;

The title says it all, I am obsessed with FALL!!!

October is my favorite month by far! I love the scents, Halloween, the flavored and the weather!!!

I love how the air starts to get the crisp feeling and all the leaves start to change! Since I'm in Virginia this year ill be able to actually experience the season a little!

Here's a few of my favorite things:

Sunday Social;

I apologize for the lack of pictures, they're all 1000 miles away in Florida! 1. What do you miss most about being a kid? The lack of responsibility. I miss being able to do things when I wanted without having to think of all the things I was neglecting.

2. Did you have a nickname growing up? What was it? Sami and Sam, these were derived from my full name Samantha. Ham bone... I have no clue why my family called me this?

3. What was your favorite thing to do at recess? Play on the spider jungle gym. Coolest thing ever. When I swapped schools it was playing sports with everyone.

4. What did you want to be when you grew up? A singer. I always wanted to be a singer but I'm sure 80% of little kids do.

5. What was your favorite toy? Probably my Barbie collection or my pink jeep power wheels. I loved that thing so much!

6. What is the funniest thing you did as a kid that your parents still remind you about? I always use to take my socks off and my hair down. I had extremely long hair and my mother insisted on making me keep it up. I'd get to school and take it down and put my socks in my backpack! She tells the story to everyone!

Weak?

I have been questioning myself quite a bit these past two nights. My husband and I have been discussing moving B to his own room. He's only two months old but with him sleeping 8 hours straight through the night I think it's time.

Last night was a bit rough. I fed him downstairs and jostled him back to sleep by the time I made it up the stairs. I rocked him to sleep twice. He would not sleep in his crib without screaming!!! Being my weak mommy self I brought him back to his cradle in our room.

Tonight I planned things a little better. I came upstairs and fed him in his room. He rocked him a bit afterwords just to make sure he was good and knocked out. By the time I made it to the bathroom and back he had already spit his paci and and was grunting and looking everywhere. I felt horrible for him but stuck his paci back in his mouth and headed to my room. A few minutes later he's grunting again so I come back to see spit up everywhere and his paci out again! I cleaned him up and stuck his paci back.

Where am I at right now you ask? Rocking silently in his room making sure he is good and fast asleep.

I feel oh so weak. I'm scared to move my baby out of my room though. He's slept literally two feet from me since day one and now he's a good 4 yards across the hall. I know I have a solid reason to be worried but I just feel so weak.

Fill in the blank Friday: My first;

Today I'm linking up with The little things we do for Fill in the blank Friday!

1. My first memory is from when I was three. I got stung by a bumble bee and had to lug a heart monitor around because I was highly allergic to them.
2. My first love was sadly I'm not sure who my first true love was. My first true love that loved me back would be my husband but I'm sure he wasn't the first that I gave my heart too.

3. My very first favorite color was red. I don't know why but I really dislike red now.

4. The first time I really felt like a "grown-up" was when my parents left to go back to Florida. I was 1000 miles away from them married and pregnant. I grew up fast.

5. The first thing I do when I wake up in the morning is check on little B. he's normally up smiling or whining to bed fed.

6. The first CD (cassette tape, record, etc...) I ever bought was Brittany Spears I think. I remember having CDs before that but it's the first one I ever purchased.

7. My first car was a 1998 black mustang. It was ragged to say the least. The door had a huge dent and it was just a mess.

It's that time of year again, baby fever;

You heard my right... Baby fever.

I thought after having B our life would be complete for a while. I figured we'd be done having babies until B was quite a bit older. We had discussed it and decided that once B got to kindergarten we could try for another one. I'd have my degree by then and it would just be the best for all of us.

Since B has been born we've been discussing the topic of a second baby. We've came to the conclusion that maybe after our upcoming deployment we should try again. This would be our last little one. It would give B a friend close to his age so he would never be bored. It would allow me to start school and a career without having to take off for another little one. Needless to say I think we both have made our decision.

I'm so excited to try for another baby. I'm ecstatic that we're going to try to plan for it him or her this time! We both really hope that a little girl will come out of this and already have her name picked out. If its a boy, we don't have a name and have been throwing different ones out there. We both like Noah but it doesn't really fit the last name.

I guess you can never truly get over a baby fever<3

The obstacles of being a mommy;

For little B to only be two months old, I've hit a lot of obstacles.

When he was a month old we were having a lot of trouble breast feeding. It wasn't getting any better and hurt so bad to even proceed with it. I did a lot of research and learned about tongue ties. When we returned to the pediatrician I mentioned it to her and she checked for us to see what she could find. She said he had a PTT (posterior tongue tie) which is a tie farther back (tongue ties are when the little piece of meat under your tongue is connected to far). She was kind enough to refer us to an ENT to get it clipped.

Today the little guy and I went to the ENT. We packed up the car and battled all the tunnel traffic on the way to Portsmouth naval. When we got in there the doctor and student doctor were both very nice. The only problem with our trip is that the doctor said he couldn't find a tongue tie.

This is VERY common with tongue ties. You'll have to see many doctors to get one that says yes. Another trip to the pediatrician we will make to get yet another referral to some other hospital.

Did I mention my little boy can totally rock his Vans? :) we went out to eat last night since Daddy came home for a bit. He's been doing inserv and last night he had to be back to the ship at 10PM. Thankfully he got to come visit us and head out for a quick dinner to celebrate 2.5 years of being a couple.

B also did his tummy time today. He's gotten soooo good at holding his head up but won't do it for more them five minutes. He gets really fussy and gives up :)

The life I was suppose to have;

Today I'm stealing a little posting idea from Brittany at Tales From a Sailor's Soul Mate. Go show her some love. After reading Brittany's post I was inspired to think about where I would be today if a few things hadn't of happened. While I was still in highschool I had all intentions of going to a big university. It was more then just to cheer for a school, it was to continue color guard. That was a love of mine in highschool. Unfortunately funds didn't really cooperate on that part and I ended up at a local state college, Pensacola State. I decided to attend for my nursing degree and would continue on the route for my four year degree once I moved to Virginia with Chance. Planes however do change. Last December, my last semester at PSC, I got a funny feeling. I couldn't wake up in the morning without eating because of nausea. Chance and I would soon find out out that I was pregnant.
Needless to say this made Chance and me a little worried. We stressed for a bit but we made it through. On December 17, 2011 (just 3 days after we found out I was pregnant)I graduated from PSC with my AA in Pre-nursing. We were both extremely joyous that I did get to finish my degree.
With a baby coming we decided to get engaged and have a courthouse marriage. We married December 27 and Chance headed back to Virginia the next day.
At this very moment I'm writing this blog with my two month old sleeping beside me on the couch. Never in a million years did I dream I would be a mommy at the age of 20. My dream of going to college for my bachelors has once again been put on hold. B was born at the beginning of this semester so I didn't even try to go back. With a deployment coming up I'll be moving back to FL for a while. I can say that I do not regret a single thing. Yes, I did want the perfect proposal and the BIG white wedding. All of this stuff was put aside when we found out we had been blessed. We got married way earlier then planned but we are both perfectly happy with this. We're so happy to be parents!

2 months!

B is two months old today! He's gotten so big!

He's gained 4 pounds and grown 2.5 inches!

He can smile and giggle :) as well as reach for toys.

He follows you with his eyes and turns his head when you walk by.

He has horrible reflux :( he's taking Prevacid but it doesn't seem to be helping. He cries all day long and won't stop unless he's feeding or being held. I feel so horrible for him.

He loves his mommy and his daddy and is already a sweet little sailor!

Making a change;

This past week my sailor and I have been trying to eat a little better. After having a baby my body isn't quite where it use to be. I still have a pound to lose (yes, just a pound), but I really need to tighten up and just want to be healthier in general. Our grocery trip was all about trying new recipes and little to no junk food!

Today I made petite lasagnas. They were super easy! I can't wait for us to actually try them!

The sailor is still in three section duty. Little B and I are trying to take a trip to the ship to say our good byes to daddy before he heads underway. We plan on taking our piete lasagnas to have for dinner!

Little B is still growing huge! I woke up this morning to him being such a happy baby! That is a big jump from this week. He's been colicy and has a bit of reflux. He has been one miserable baby! To top it off he's been constipated and had to have juice. I wasn't planning on introducing for a while but if it helps his little tummy then I'm all for it. Fingers crossed for this week to go better!

Did I mention that I am obsessed with scentsy. Its definitely my new favorite thing! I love the fall scents!!! I even got a little fall decor for the home :)

In all my excitement yesterday, I knocked my straightener off the counter and broke it :( I've had it for six years!!!

Taking leave;

In the navy one of the hurdles that may come up is taking leave. We have hit that hurdle pretty hard.

After B was born we decided we'd take leave so everyone back home in FL could see him. August was to busy of a month so we didn't get the chance. Now with deployment soon approaching, we have hit inserve and 3 section duty. This means, Chance has duty every three days and they refuse to let him take leave. We got over that and decided we'd go home for Halloween since I am so in love with the holiday. I had told my family and bestie (who took days off to see us). This morning Chance calls to break the news to me that the PRT would be the week around Halloween and we'd be changing our leave to earlier. Well that was a bit upsetting. I really wanted to be home for the holiday. On the plus side, the family will be seeing B sooner then thought and I'm ok with that.

This comes to show you rule #1 in the Navy: Expect the unexpected. Things will change!!!

Now mentioning little B, he is almost two months old! He has grown so big so fast! He gave me his fist smile and giggle!!! He's a ton more alert and active and loves car rides and music. He is fussy at times but we're dealing with that. He sleeps 5-6 hours straight through the night and sometimes a little longer! He is such a blessing!!!
